Hello everyone!

My name is Enrique Varela and I've been trolling these forums for the past few months, ever since I've become acquainted with East West's fantastic virtual instruments.

During this time, I've heard some pretty amazing works here, and the amount of information on these forums has been an invaluable resource to learning some of the quirks of working with and programming virtual instruments through MIDI.

A little about myself:

I live near Raleigh, North Carolina and work at a small studio in sound design and writing music for various clients. I have also done sound design and music for live theater and performances.

I play saxophone (alto), piano, and am also involved in the local gamelan
( http://www.ibiblio.org/gamelan/ ).

With the vast amount of music these days, it's been very difficult to find "my own voice", especially in an environment where clients ask me to sound like composer X or Y. Anyone else get that feeling at times?

Anyways, I look forward to hearing from you all, and hope to inspire or be inspired by the great music that graces these forums.

Oh and here's a link to my first music post:

ps. For all those curious, I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, moved to the USA when I was five, if anyone was wondering what an Enrique was doing in North Carolina ;)
