Hey all,

i'm running Symphonic Orchestra (Gold Edition) in protools 7.1. I'm having a problem using articulations and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.

I've loaded 4 different articulations into a multi on an instrument track. Then I recorded some midi, but I can't work out how to assign these articulations to specific midi notes I've recorded like it states in the manual. i can only get all the articulations playing all the time or not at all. Does anyone know how I can assign specific articulations to specific notes in protools?

I've tried using the Gold Edition plug in on an auxiliary track and loading all separate midi tracks also, but this means that the volume faders dont work and i have to adjust the volume from the plug-in itself.

Thanks

Hi

Pro-tools does'nt let you use different midi channels per track. So each Midi track has to have a dedicated channel.Try the keyswitch programs. Most articulations that you will need are in there. Also remember if its a DFX program you'l need to send mod wheel info too.

hope this helps

One word: banks.

You can assign up to 128 patches (articulations) per bank, in K2, then address them from within one midi track, using Program Change -- in real time, or inserting them afterwards.

Pro-tools does'nt let you use different midi channels per track. So each Midi track has to have a dedicated channel.
That's intriguing. As I know, "using different midi channels per track" is impossible, regardless the sequencer. Do you know of any sequencer that allows that, switching midi channels while staying in the same midi track?

I use Logic and I believe that for each track, you have to assign a specific MIDI channel or use Omni. I don't know if you can program MIDI channel changes; never tried it.

I also use K2 and like Nicky said, Banks are the way to go!
