Hello everyone,

My name is Raoul. Everyone on the internet can just call me RaMa though, since I've gotten pretty used to it the past 10 years.
I don't know if I can call myself a real musician yet, but I'm quite musical. I studied the violin for about 8 years, but now I've been learning myself to play the guitar a little and I've just started learning to play the piano from a book (Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course).

I started using EWQLSO about a year ago when I bought the Gold Bundle from eBay. Since then I made a few compositions, but mostly short ones. EWQLSO hadn't been installed on my computer for a few months because I had formatted the hard disks, but just about a week ago I installed it again and now I'm playing and learning yet again.

I have a few compositions on my online portfolio under 'Audio' over at http://www.portfoliorama.net

I hope I'll have more to post over here soon. Feedback is always welcome :).

Well nothing such interesting actually. Rama - is just a frame, usually for home windows or art works. So if a russian guy takes such a nickname, it would sound just a little bit weird)

Hi, RaMa,

Welcome to the forum.

Your handle was also the name of several books by Arthur C Clark. They are current making a movie of the first one, Rendezvous with Rama. Man would I love to score that one; great book!

Green as grass? I like green grass. I am a Canadian! Wonderful, natural, herbal . . .

I look forward to getting to know you and your music. :)

In Switzerland and Germany exists a cream called Rama. It's been created for people that want to lose weight:D Raphael

Thanks for the welcome, other people :).

Yeah, Rama is a pretty well known name - the Russian thing surprised me though :P. It's also the name of an important character in Hindu myths. Plus it's a combination of the first two letters of my surname and those of my last name :D.

To follow up on this interesting thread of etymology, I can inform you that 'rama' on Danish means something like "extremely schocking". Usually it's combined with the Danish word for "scream" (skrig) into:

'rama-skrig", which can be understood in both a negative and positive way as something terrible or astonishing

and welcome by the way :D

Hello RaMa

I couldn't resist giving my own input. In our country we used to have a margarine trademark called Rama- the light alternative. It was pretty famous. Maybe you're going to become too.

See you on the threads
