Hello there! I´m Jack Moik, Music composer from Germany.

My Studio is located in nice Frankfurt/Main. I´m using East West stuff since a couple of years and yet have replaced my complete old school midi studio with my beloved PC studio now. Composing Soundtracks in the good old days was somtimes fun, but very expensive and sometimes really painfull, so changing my complete studio with software synths was realy an apparentness for me.

I use EWQL Orchestra Gold, Colossus, Stormdrum, Synphonic Choirs beside some other plugins like Korg Legacy and Atmosphere. It all comes together in Steinberg Nuendo which is controlled by a M-Audio Projectmix, which is a wonderfull piece of hardware.

I do write and produce music for motion picture, TV, commercials and games. My clients from editing and music composing include people and companies like Phillip Morris, Kelloggs, BBC, JVC and Procter & Gamble.

I started in the movie industry as modelbuilder and editor. Late in the 90's I switched to the digital realm, since then I edited a variety of films, commercials & music clips. Recently I specialized in digital matte painting, concept art, Renaissance wardrobe and miniature effects. Since miniatures seem like an endangered species, I like to keep it alive. :)

Digital matte painting, miniatures and soundtrack composition...well it sounds like a unique combination, but it works quite well. I recently finished the edit, 25 digital matte paintings and the Renaissance puppet wardrobe for the new music short film "ME" featuring the band ASP. What a project!

I must admit I´m influenced by a couple of composers which I grew up, amongst them are the wonderfull Jerry Goldsmith, Hans Zimmer, John Willams, Pink Floyd, Dead can Dance, John Barry, Basil Poledouris, and of cause Richard Wagner. :D

You may check out my homepage: http://www.solid-ground-entertainment.com A couple of music demo´s are in my myspace account here, but I urgently need to replace them with some newer stuff. Anyway, please feel free to have a look: http://www.myspace.com/jackmoik

Thank you for listening to my music demos. Please feel free to send me some feedback.

Best wishes,
Jack

Nice to get acquainted with your many talents inside various art forms. It looks like you have really been putting effort on making miniatures, painting and those kinds of things. And it surely must have been an enormous work for these examples shown on your myspace site. Very interesting. Thanks also for your music.

Guten Tag Welcome Jack! Wie geht es Ihnen?

What a coincidence. If EVER there was a doppelganger from across the world I think I've found him!

My background is so similar to yours its frightening. I too started off in the special effects world. I worked on tons of blockbuster films from "The Abyss" to some of the "Star Trek" movies and lots of television building miniatures and props. Wow - I thought I was like the ONLY effects guy turned composer in the world. Producer Stephen Rocha discovered me for his show he created, "Movie Magic" a Discovery channel series in which he hired me to score. Ironically enough the series is ABOUT special effects so I was soooo lucky to be doing underscore for so many episodes with big effects heroes of mine in them. It was a dream come true. After that one thing led to the next and I started getting film assignments small to large.

Welcome aboard! And if you need any help with your east west products please just ask.

Cheers and greetings from Hollywood California,

[Studied German in college-am a little rusty but],

Tschüs!

Cheers,
