View Full Version : Greetings from Seattle (or thereabouts)
Hi all, I am a producer of electronic music in various genres (trending to dark and heavy influences). I am a long time amateur musician with piano and guitar background, relatively new to computer music production.
I've recently purchased the complete composer's collection and voices of passion libraries, and very impressed with the quality of the EWQL products so far. These forums also seem to be very active and packed with useful info and experienced folks willing to help out. It's something you don't hear a lot mentioned in reviews and such but in this day and age of technology is an invaluable asset!
I am particularly interested in learning more about orchestration and production in the context of modern electronic music such as used for film/game soundtracks. From browsing in the forums seems there are a ton of related discussions.
Anyway, that's my intro, more info about me and my music through link in my sig. See you on the "boards"! :)

Hey BI9 - Good to see another fellow artist from the Emerald City here.
It appears you and I share many similar tastes and influences. Always good to see both Infected Mushroom and Meshuggah in the same list. =)
Welcome.
Funny, I used to live on top of Queen Anne Hill before I headed to LA.

Welcome to the Forum! It's a good place to hang out. There are a lot of talented people here who are willing to share their knowledge.
I am not quite so far away. I live in northern California, but I drive through Seattle a few times a year on I-5, 'cause I still have a home on Vancouver Island. Also I work for Wamu, so I am talking every day to my keepers in Seattle at the Wamu tower. Nothing like having fifty people peering over your shoulder; virtually.
And we know what Emerald means: beautiful green trees = rain! :D

Welcome! I often wished I lived in Seattle. That way I would always be a few feet away from a nice cup of steaming hot coffee!
Cheers,

Haha, yes I'm a big caffeine addict of course. That picture looks a lot like my desk including the axiom controller and Microsoft cup (I work there in the windows mobile group).
Thanks all for the warm welcome.
Welcome to forum BI9!!!

Welcome, welcome,
from a faraway country. Nice to hear from you. Your title reminds me of the band B52's for some reason. And that's not bad at all...

Welcome!! We are probably neighbors. I also live in the Seattle area (Redmond, Bellevue, Kenmore, Lynnwood, Everett, are just a few places I've lived in the past 8 years). We might sumble upon each other one day, :)
Thanks for all the welcome, great to see others from the soggy northwest making music here :-).
