A stupid question:

Well i've got a mac pro intel xeon 2.88 Ghz, 8 core 8 Gb Ram and leopard 10.5.1 as os
I run this follows:

EW complete composer collection, MOR, VOP and K3 actually i use to mix all sound on my external DAW Yamaha AW16G ....i use to play may motif es 7 as masterkeyboard

i connect motif to my audio interface m-audio fastrack pro via midi and last one to my mac pro via usb..i play all sw of est west as standalone fine....

Now i'm planning to buy cubase 4 or logic 8 ....should i connect my motif es 7 directly to my mac pro via usb when i use east west sw as plug-ins in cubase 4 or logic ?

as long as your DAW recieves MIDI-data, it doesn't make a difference.
The only thing I can think of is unnoticable less delay in midi-messages if you run the motif directly via USB (didn't know you could use it as an USB MIDI-controller...?)

Also concider that you are freeing up a midi-connection if you run it directly via USB
