View Full Version : Member's Machines

This thread is soley dedicated to the listing of member's rigs to provide a sample database of what is actually working in the field today. Please feel free to list your machine's specs, the software you are running, OS, Host, and performance data ONLY if you have a STABLE rig. Also, this would be a great place to list known compliance/error problems so others can avoid similar pitfalls. Thanks and enjoy!

Well, perhaps this thread is a bust!:p

Maybe everyone glanced at your post and thought you meant "ride" instead of "rig."Here you go, anyway...

MB: Gigabyte N650sli-DS4
Proc: Intel E6750 Dual Core
RAM: Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1 GB(x2)
Case: Sonata III (/w Earthwatts 500)+ extra 120mm fan
HD: Hitachi Deskstar T7K250
Lite-On LH-20A1P DVD-RW
Graphics: XFX Invidia GeForce 8600 GT ( 10/28/07)
Sound: Realtek ALC888
Monitor: HP mx50 13"
Speakers: Mwave JBL
Logitech Cordless Desktop S510
Audio-techica ATH-M30 headphones
Windows XP SP2
Sonar 7 Studio

I'm obviously replacing the monitor and adding a usable sound card as soon as possible. I'm using ASIO4ALL drivers in the meantime, which are stable for midid work, though I haven't tried audio--might as well wait for the new card.

I'm currently running three full instances of Gold XP with mostly dxf patches, as well as three play instruments from MoR in separate instances. As I said, no mixing to wav yet, but it runs a fairly busy bit of noise with few problems (after a little helpful tech support from the EW boys), but no convolution reverb--again, likely the fault of the onbard sound.

Summation: a fairly modest multipurpose build, but with reasonable results. 64-bit capable with a new OS & RAM

My suggestion is, that if you want people to post their machine's specs, encourage them by doing so by yourself first ;)

Thanks Piotr. I would love to list my rig here... but it doesn't exist yet.:(

The reason I made this post was to help newbs like myself see other user's rigs to get some direction and avoid expensive mistakes on hardware.

Thanks also to Jacob Falling.
