I've listened to the montage at least 4 times since last night. . . I'd buy CDs with the complete songs that these extracts come from.

Salut Laurent, ca va?

Let me keep going in English...
I already had heard your first big demo file a while ago, which is massive good music. I heard your recent posts and I am still impressed by your versatility. You can handle different styles and still produce high level music in each of them.

By the way, I guess you do that for a linving, but you say you haven't released any album. Could explain us roughly what you exactly do?

A bientot!

Laurent JUILLET

Hi Kayamb.

Most of my work is for library music but I also worked for several project. I wrote music for theatre performances, a video game soundtrack, music for radio commercial. I had just finish orchestration for a the music of my friend François Peyrony who wrote the music for a french movie called "Il ne faut jurer de rien" (English title is "Never say never"), I aslo was the production manager on this project. We recorded the soundtrack with the Slovak National orchestra in Bratislava.

The way is still long! I still have a lot of work to become a good composer. But I know that I am a lucky guy, but important is to have dreams and to believe in it, we never knows what the future reserves.

Thank you Kayamb ;)

I'm looking at your score, and I'm a bit surprised : when all the full strings are playing, they play the same melody and the basses are playing another thing.... I didn't know that it can played like this, In what I compose, I always give different parts to each section of my strings (ViolinsI, II, Violas, Cellos and Basses). But like what you did, it sounds good.

It's interesting to see how the others compose. ;)

Laurent JUILLET
07-26-2005, 05:02 PM
Don't forget that there no transposed instrument in this score, and all the score is in C. So the basses sound like they were wrote.

This section in just a big melody gived to the strings, but I kept the basses to get some low under this melody.

Bravo Laurent, I discovered your site (and those from Lionel) some weeks ago, after having started working with SO Gold. I see there is some new songs i have to discover, good. A real orchestra has nothing to compare. Thanks also for your articles on orchestration, very practical.

Laurent,

My greatest congratulations.
You truly have a feel for soundtracks. Very balanced, good taste in sounds, good composition. A very professional experience all over.
I'm a self-made beatman and must say your beats and arpeggios are excellent. Did you make them yourself?

Superb

Laurent, I also took a listen to your other work. Very nice, i must say : the lounge, the classical, the moviescores.
I'm also a fan of Cliff Martinez's Solaris soundtrack. Do you know that moment when after a few minutes of bells and bowls, the bass comes in? Great!

I find overall you have the intensity to use the sounds to a level where they're not only hip and nice sounds anymore, but where they come to life. Also your ethnic influences appeal a lot to my taste.

I must say i'm a fan.
