I'm Jasper Brownrigg, obviously, a student studying Voice and Opera at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK, which basically means I sing a lot.
In my spare time I love to write music, but have started to find my self rather limited by the sounds available in Sibelius. I admit that I tend to be a little limited to what I hear, and end up writing to make the program sound good, rather than what is idiomatically correct for instruments. As a result I started to look elsewhere for my sounds and ended up being pointed this way. I mentioned the possibility that having some of the sounds from EW studios would be quite nice to my parents in the traditional understated way that we Brits do, and ended up getting EWQLSO Platinum + XP PRO and Symphonic Choirs bundle for Christmas which staggered me to say the least. In the intervening time I have been gradually getting to grips with the software and midi manipulation involved therein.
I have to say that my EWQL SO&C has been like a gift from the gods. I paint with sound now, and I can do almost anything I want. I say almost as I now have a very long list of East West products I want to get eventually in the future, money allowing, in particular the ethnic instruments of RA and the Voices of Passion. Storm Drum might be a rather nice edition to my library.
Anyway, thank you for reading. I've finally decided to sign up here now that I feel I have things I can share with you. I look forwards to seeing you arround on the rest of the boards.
