After having been on this forum for a while, it's time to introduce myself.

Originally from The Netherlands, I have lived in the US for the last fifteen years. My interest is in composing music for film and TV, as well as for performing and visual arts, but I haven't done much in that area for quite a while. However, I recently put my day job on hold and I am now again devoting time to music and other artistic endeavors.

I have some EW products I'm trying to get a handle on using, so I hope to learn from this forum and also to contribute myself in a meaningful way.

Welcome Job Michiel! How do you like it in the US vs the Netherlands?

Thank you, Allan. For me the move to the US has been very good; professionally at first, later personally as well. I was kind of stuck in Holland, so I'm glad I had the opportunity to come here.

How do you pronounce your last name?
The "uij" part is the problem... It's a variant spelling of the diphtong "ui" in Dutch, which you also see spelled as "uy" sometimes in names (like in "Stuyvesant").

As the "ui" sound doesn't exist in English, I usually approximate it as "ai", so: van Zailen... I shoud probably have changed it to something simpler when I became a citizen!

Now what about your last name?

Now what about your last name?

Thats not easy either!

IF you morphed Laaaaa with Luuuuu

youd get Leung.

Hmmm - interesting to try this in Word builder!
