This is probably a very simple thing for most of you, but I can't quite figure out how to do tempo changes to a sequence while locked to a movie clip. It seems that when I change tempo, the speed of the movie clip changes accordingly. Do you have to unlock movie to sequence? I am using Digital Performer 5. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Really? Cubase does not do this; there must be a preference in DP to toggle that on/off.

I've never encountered that in DP... are you sure the movie clip is speeding up? Do you have a timecode burn in to verify?
You might try asking this question at unicornation.com

Doh! You're right. i checked again and the video tempo does NOT change along with sequence tempo changes. Guess I should have confirmed again before posting. Oh well. That's a relief.
I just feel like a complete dufus now. :o

No, the movie should be locked, but I can't understand what would make your movie follow the Conductor tempo. By default, it shouldn't. Your Tempo control is set to Conductor track, right? From what you describe DP is working as a machine controlling the speed of the film through MTC. That's weird, I wish I could do that only I don't know how. :) Have you opened your movie from the Project menu, or with Shift+V? Or maybe you are keeping the movie outside DP? Would you describe a bit more your setup? Right now all I can think of is this: Preference / Play And Record / Transmit sync: set both "Transmit MTC to..." and "Transmit beat clocks via port..." to None. (that is, assuming that you have your movie open inside DP)

Hold on a sec - is this a movie that is imported into and playing within DP?

Well I'm glad this question was brought up because I'm having the same problem. Whenever I try to do "tap tempo", the video speeds up and slows down accordingly when I'm recording the tempo. However, the video plays normally upon playback. It's only a problem when recording "tap tempo". I'm on DP 4.6.
