Hi all -
This is my first post and I am pretty excited to be diving in. Word Builder is nothing short of incredible.
My first silly question - I need the phrase "Non Dairy Creamer" ( don't ask... :)
I need it spaced as in - "Non - Dai - ry - Crea -mer".
I have tried many options and I am coming up with garbled lyric (which actually sounds cool, but..... I need it to translate fairly clearly.)
Can anyone spell this out and give a few bonehead starter tips??
Thanks so much in advance!
Shawn

Some WB expert should start offering their services to create custom phrases - there's money in it!

Hi Shawn ,
Welcome to the forum and the joys of the choirs :)
I guess the Votox spelling @ it's simplist would be " nan der EE KrEE mur "
you can experiment by doubling letters , for example "naan deer" and you can try
substituting vowels for example try an "e" in "mur" so it is spelt "mer"
but with WB the spelling is not the end of the story , it is also important to get the lengths
and to a certain extent volumes of each letter right , try using the 'speed learning' function
to adjust the letter lengths and then manually fine tune them .

Oh you can also try the rolling r like this >> "r!" (without quotes)

Magpie -
A million thanks ! That worked great. I later tried to change to sopranos and the program was kind of acting choppy and the it did not line up. I reset the voices in WB and that did not help. I experimented with the midi track and that did not help. BUT, I got a strong pass with the fuill mens tenors and man...... sounds awesome.
Is there a "general rule" about spacing and using hyphens between syllables ? And also, the general rule about using caps ? (especially at the start of words...)
Thanks again!

There is a thing with Word Builder that if you change choirs it can mess the words up ,
the secret is to save the Word Builder file first , change choir then reload the Word builder
file , there is a thread about it here >>>

I don't think there is any need to use hyphens , I don't use them anyway !
It is impotant to use the same caps as in the chart on page 80 of the manual ......
for example "a" has the sound of "o" in the word copper where as uppercase "A" has the sound of "a" in black !
Then there are letters that are only in uppercase or lower case , for example "n" is only
lowercase , uppercase "N" does not exist in votox , you can type it in the text window OK
but if you look in the time editor below it will not have been recognized ;)

That should change shortly, we're just putting the finishing touches on the video tutorials, plus there are 2 software updates coming that we've already tested that are going to make wordbuilding much smoother. We also welcome input from users for future improvements, but we should start another thread for that after the next software release.
