Hello,
My name is Christiaan Bakker alias AniCator.
Of course I like making music, that's why I register here. Of course I like East West, otherwise I wouldn't have registered here.
The only 'problem' I could be banned for is this: I do not own an East West product.
I trying to get enough money to buy GOLIATH (RAAAH! <- that sounds improfessional).
It will shock you but I have been using free instruments for ages. I have got my hands on EWQLSO once and the results were massive. My music sounded ultra cool when I used it!
Here's a track that doesn't use EWQLSO:
Empires.mp3 (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/Empires.mp3)
And here are two that do:
FantaCratia.mp3 (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/FantaCratia.mp3) (a bit out of sync, I messed it up)
OrchTest4.mp3 (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/OrchTest4.mp3) (Mary had a little lamb, not very original but still it sounds good)
OrchTest4_trumpet.mp3 (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/OrchTest4_trumpet.mp3) (Replaced the violin with a trumpet)
Thanks for listening,
- AniCator
PS: Only 385.31 EUR left.
EDIT: There's a problem with the OrchTest4_trumpet.mp3 download. I have uploaded it but it says the file doesn't exist. I'm working on it.

I'd like to say welcome but you really have to buy your own license to use any EW products - licenses are personal and "borrowing" someone else's EW libraries is a copyright violation, which hurts EW as well as (indirectly) other forum users.

Oh. Sorry. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to try it out and I spend a few hours playing with EWQLSO.
I won't be touching it anymore. :)
But do you think I have potential (since there are a lot of people down-rating my tracks at NewGrounds.com) ? :(

But do you think I have potential
Everyone has potential Christiaan, and don't you let ANYONE ever tell you otherwise. I listened to your compositions and I liked them, just keep at it, save money (try to convince your friends and family to invest in you) and go buy those libraries!
Groet uit San Francisco,
Peter
ps (yes I am a Dutchie! this is a little entre nous between Christiaan and me) recentelijk zijn er hier heftige discussies geweest over auteursrecht en auteursrecht inbreuk, en of je de software van EW mag verkopen (antwoord: nee), waarbij de meningen hoog zijn opgelopen - zeer gevoelig onderwerp - dus wees voorzichtig met gebruik van de libraries, vooral als je jezelf voorstelt.

Thanks for the tip.

PS: En ook bedankt voor die andere. Ik wil niet gezien worden als een vijand van East West.

Hello everyone,
I wonder how others started. I started making digital music back in 2005. I am still using the same tool and I am still using a lot of the free soundfonts I downloaded back then.
The 'Empires' track was inspired by the theme track of a Half-Life 2 modification called Empires.
It's actually not the best track I ever made but I can't really pick one out of the one hundred.
Yes, I made a lot of tracks. Some suck, some are mediocre and others are cool!
Thanks again for the encouraging reply, Peter.
I would like to 'show' you a few more tracks. I hope it doesn't bother you that it's not made using East West products. It's all made with free instruments. Just listen to the music, not the quality of the instruments.
I hope you like them and I hope that I can hold Goliath in my hands within a few months/years/decades/centuries/millennia.
24 Hours (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/AniCator - 24 Hours.mp3) (the first track I made using new soundfonts, you'll notice it's repetitive and that the flute 'loops' a lot)
Remix - Out There (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/AniCator - Remix - Out There (hamst3r).mp3) (probably one of my best tracks ever, at least it's part of the Top 10. Remixed with permission of the original creator Jamez 'Hamster' Gillman. He also gave me some tips on how to improve the track. I tried to apply them as much as possible.)
The Road to Infinity (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/AniCator - The Road to Infinity.mp3) (older but still nice, attempt at 'modern' music)
The Organ Bugs Me (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/AniCator - The Organ Bugs Me.mp3) (I always have that issue that I express weird hidden feelings that are mixed up with everything and nothing at the same time. Those feelings make weird tracks.)
Danger (http://www.anicator.com/gallery/music/ACMyas_Track_03.mp3) (part of the Top 10, not perfect but nice and it creates a bit of tension)
That's about it for now. There is one track I really want to show you but I just can't since it isn't a good one. But I simply love it! It's filled with bursts and clicks but I still love it. But I shouldn't show you. Because it's not a good idea to let orchestra composers listen to it.
Thanks for reading and listening,
- AniCator
PS: Should I remove the link to the tracks made with East West products? The ones in the first post?

Nice music, Christiaan - though I did not really "get" The Organ Bugs Me (my first thought was that there is something wrong with the file or maybe my computer). Just keep it going. If you want more feedback, by the way, you could consider posting it on http://www.soundsonline-forums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=6 which is where people post their music to get feedback etc., although I am not sure whether that forum is only intended for music created with one of the EW libraries or also other third party libraries.
Take care,
Peter
ps my non legal advice is not remove the link to the tracks since you will be going legit soon anyhow and you want your music to be heard first and foremost, right -- I can't speak for EW but it is not very likely that they will sue you just for creating a couple of tracks and showing them to the world.

According to my intuition the 'Your Music' forum is made for the EW users since most of the tracks are made using EW libraries or other products with at least one EW library.
