Hello,
I seek from the vast "Soundsonline's collections VST" , but I cannot find my "happiness".
I would like to find a VST plugin me to make music as Vangelis like (sounds from synth CS-80, Moog, etc. ...). Whether you advise me?
Thank you for advance :)
P.s.: I don't know if I posted in the right place my message

LOL. Can you hold down one key and have it work? :D
I think what your looking for is simple emmulations of older analog gear. Lots of stuff out there that gives you the 'vintage' sound of Vangelis.

A few that have nice Vangelis style feel in many sounds:
Spectrasonics Atmosphere
ReFx Nexus
Arturia CS-80V
Korg Legacy

Good one! Here is another one derived from your link: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1997_articles/nov97/vangelis.html VERY good reading!
Yes, the idea is to "hunt down" digital emulations of the vintage synths that Vangelis used. Here is one of them that I own and thoroughly enjoy: FM8.

I use the older version FM7... indeed very nice replacement for the Yamaha DX-series!
Other good emulations by Native Instruments are B4II (Hammond B3) and Pro-53 (Prophet)
Arturias' CS-80V, Minimoog V, Moog Modular V2, Prophet V and Jupiter-8V are also very good analog synth replacements.
Mentioned before... Both Korg Legacy versions (analog + digital) are recomendable also. :)
Interesting to read: INSIDE THE SYNTH LAB
Recording Vangelis: Nemo Studios; Keith Spencer Allen & Raphael Preston (http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1997_articles/nov97/vangelis.html)
EDIT: Oops... same link as nickysnd suggested :D

Korg 800DV "Maxi Korg" - inside cover of Heaven and Hell LP
Huh? No.
Did you check the CD or the LP?
The (later) CD-sleeves don't have the same contents (no pics, just text) as the LP-cover

Thank you guys ! :D
I'm trying Arturia's products and it sounds like :)
but I don't know if there exists a FM8 package with all instruments that could look Vangelis like regularly uses ?
First of all, Vangelis has always been very clever to use what he had in hand and twist it to what he
wanted it to sound. His musical mind have always been his force, whatever instruments he chose to use.
About the synths. I know that his life changed radically after getting the CS 80 into his life.
And it's difficult to imagine "Blade Runner" without the CS 80.
But again, if you look at the history of Vangelis, he used what he had, and did his thing.
For me a proof of his genuine musical mind.
Back to the original question: Mainly based on the old analogue classics. Today the alternative is many of the
excellent plug synths already mention on the tread, with patches that are mend to serve the Vangelis sound.

And it's off course difficult to imagine "Blade Runner" without the CS 80.

For me a proof of a genuine musical mind that expressed him self whatever tools in hand.
To the original question: All the classics analogues in combination of sounds.
Imagination decides. And today, many excellent plug synths, already mentioned on
this thread, with patches mend to serve the Vangelis sound.
However, it's useful to know how a synth works and to be able to tweak around one self
to find the sound we're looking for.
