I don't know where to begin. How do I start learning to operate this powerful application?

Is it compatible with FINALE? I see NI and KOMPAKT work together with Garritan Personal Orchestra on the same platform.

As a choir director I arrange much of the music used in my church. I would love to be able to demonstrate this music for my choir by playing some sort of recording made with EWQL Symphonic Choirs.

My understanding of high tech musical control is limited. Where do I begin to learn to use this product?

Hi Michael

If you "own" a real choir I would recommend you to use that one, and not EWQLSC. In fact, EWQLSC is a beautiful program and it sounds nice, but you will spend hours and hours with "wordbuilder" untill you get a result that's acceptable.
The best way to learn using these products is learning by doing...

Hi Michael:

Welcome to the forum first of all - by "this product", do you mean the Symphonic Choirs by Eastwest Quantumleap?

I do not have Finale and cannot comment on its compatibility with the Symphonic Choirs (although they probably should be compatible, my understanding is that Finale works with VST plugins such as the choirs).

I do have Sibelius however and that works just fine with the Symphonic Choirs, it being noted that I cannot record anything using merely Sibelius (have to use another sequencing program for that in addition to Sibelius, which is Reaper). I usually start a score in Sibelius using the built in Sibelius Essentials libraries (which have choirs too) and then, when I am happy with the composition and arrangement, "plug in" in the EW Choirs.

As Raphael mentioned, the difficulty is the Wordbuilder program - the software program that makes the choirs sing actual lyrics rather than just "oohs" and "aahs". If you intend to use the Symphonic Choirs only as a mock-up to demonstrate how it might sound, before your choir, however the "oohs" and "aahs" are just fine. I can record "oohs" and "aahs" in Sibelius, not using the Wordbuilder program, by the way.

The Symphonic Choirs are very beautiful -- you won't be disappointed. I love choral music and am always tinkering around with the Choirs.

Let me know if you need further clarification.

With my best regards.
