In order to use Soprano/Altos on Mac one should start two stand alone WBs at the same time (when using Kompakt). It seems not to be possible. Are there some extra keys strokes to do it? It works on my PC!

I thought both could be done in one instance of WB?

From Choirs Manual, page 35:
"If you don't have Kontakt, you can achieve the same results with 2 Kompakts and 2 Wordbuilders for the Womens's Chorus."
Also it is not possible to start two Kompakts at he same time...

You're right. But I thought one instance of WB could support multiple sets of samples provided you are using Kontakt and have enough midi ports. I know it works, I've done it, not standalone, but in a VST hosting situation in Overture 4. I've used one WB for multiple parts. I can't give instructions unfortunately, because I'm not in front of my DAW.
Man, I know I've done this!

The manual seems to be correct that you can have Altos and Sopranos loaded into one Kontakt (16 slots), but to do the same with Kompakt you need two instances (only 8 slots each and each choir takes 5 slots). To load two Kompakts on a Mac, you can't use the stand-alone program. Well, some programs let you run two if you actually duplicate the program on your hard drive. But it is easier to use Kompakt as a plug-in in a sequencer or other host, maybe Rax or DSP-Quattro. But in my experience, I've only needed one WordBuilder running. It can have multiple outputs. I've had 3 choirs running under 3 instances of Kompakt driven by one WordBuilder. I think by "2 WordBuilders" the manual means you need to have more than one voice active. You can have multiple voices active and save them as a choir file.

My error was to click the WB icon a second time when trying to create a second WB instead of using the "create new option" as I should have done. It seems that my installation problems are now over for Mac G5/logic Express 7.
