Now lets assume the Kontakt 64bit is out. Would having 1 Visiondaw 8-core computer for kontakt and sonar 7 and another VisonDaw 8-core computer for EWQL play be a good simple setup to create music without technology limits getting in the way?

I don't see anything wrong with the setup. It should last you a few years. Remember to plan your hard drives out well.

Thanks Allan,

I will spread my platinum xp across 4 drives like I have now and have some best service stuff spread across those drives as well. And save up for another 8-core and put PLAY and VSL on it. I don;'t wanna pay to much hydro having 4 or more computers running at the same time.

My goodness, PLAY and VSL sharing the same drive. Will they survive the night? ;)

Could be a short new reality segment!

It's obvious that EW would eat VSL up in just a second.

(- said Piotr and went to Vsl forums to post quite opposite statement)

:D

Well i didnt mean EWQL and VSl on the same drive but on the same computer. Or is this bad even if it is a 8 core?

no no were just making a joke. Your just fine with that setup. You have two very powerful machines there.

Thanks Allan,

Finally I found a setup that technology hopefully wont hold me back. Now I better start playing the lottery.

yeah that or what till nehalem comes out and the Cpu chips should drop in price. I also wonder if Visondaw would install 2 x E5410 which are 2.33ghz. That should be enough for PLAY I imagine. Or would a faster CPU be worth the extra price?
