There may be a problem with .mov 3 and 4. All the others downloaded fine except those two. I tried several different times, same results. They download but show a file size of 178 and 303 kb respectively. Also, I just tried to open them using QT and I get a codec error. I have QT v 6.5.2. I did a 'check for updates' and I'm up to date it read. This on a PC/XP etc.

I'll play around see what I can figure out.

Maybe you need to update to QuickTime 7

The first movie gave me a little trouble, but after a second try, I was able to download it and the others with no problems.

Ok, I downloaded/installed QT 7 with iTunes (although my old player told me I was up to date) and the video works now. Hope this may help any others on PC or maybe Mac's (god I miss them :) ) but still have the download problem with .mov 3 and 4.

As of yet I am unable to watch these videos :( ..............

My internet and general purpose PC is Win 98 and so I can't install quicktime 7 , I am trying
a work around by trying to burn the files to a video CD using Nero , I don't know if it will work
but Nero is encoding the files ATM and will take about 3 hours to complete .

Thank you for making thse videos available but would it be possible to have a divX or WMV
alternative ;)

Burning a VCD with Nero didn't work :( and I am not installing quicktime on my DAW

Magpie,
I'm able to watch it in MediaPlayer Classic (aka RealAlternative). I uploaded the install files (it's shareware) to my domain. www.tothepage.com/realalt129.exe
Try it and see if it works, don't know if you would need any additional codecs other than the ones included in the installation.

Pls. don't kill me if it doesn't work or in worst case mess up your system - but it is the same file that I installed here, and it works just fine.

Thanks groennes ,

I tried MediaPlayer Classic and it installed OK but wouldn't play the files :(

When you guys make the tutorials in the future, I sincerely hope you offer something OTHER than the quicktime platform or RA for PC users. Thank You....

I started watching the tutorials at a church function and I suddenly had a group of people gathered around. They were fascinated with everything (as was I). I bought Choirs during the presale and hadn't touched it (SONAR user awaiting the updates). When the updates came along, I waited again - I didn't want to get discouraged with the learning curve. After watching the tutorials I am now ready to take the plunge. If anybody is wondering about this product - watch the tutorials - well-worth it as a good way to find out how the program works. Now I have a bunch of people clamoring for me to get going and produce something! THANK YOU!

Most excellent tutelage! Saved as Quicktime Movies on me desktop......for when I actually open the box(es).....hopefully, in this lifetime.

Thanks for the keys to the WB castle.

Crystal clear.

Hi, Doug. I was wondering if there is anything wrong with this "global content distribution network" right now. I've tried downloading them on two different computers (one being a dual 2.0 G5 with 3 gigs of memory) and it starts out fine, but after about ten seconds, the download slows down to about 20KB/sec. I viewed them a few months ago just fine. Maybe the holiday season is crowding that site. Any ideas?

Oh, by the way, I am having this problem on both the main and alternate download links.

Thanks!

Quicktime is ok. Real Audio however sticks junk ALL over the machine and is VERY hard to remove it all. I wont put RA on my DAW, and as far as im concerned you shouldnt either. FYI...

I just downloaded QuickTime 7 and see no problem, or why not. I did it especially for these tutorials, as I was in the dark with the Choirs and I HAVE FOUND LaET (<- This should be correct, right?).

Anyway thank you for these videos

Thank you for not fleecing us and charging us for a tutorial DVD like some software companies that will remain nameless! These are a great help and will speed up my workflow no end. cool!

Those videos tutorials are really about Word Builder only which is great but really does not cover hardly anything about EWSC itself. What good is that then? I'd expect better tutorial for the money. Stylus RMX really set the bar for what a good video tutorial should be.

Those videos are listed as being for QT7. You have QT 6.5. There are new codecs in QT7, especially concerning H.264. Get QT7.

I installed the altest version of QT. When I try to play the file, the audio is ok, but the video is a flashing green screen.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: It seems to work with Realplayer, so I will use that.

Just wanted to say that you guys have really done a great job giving your clientele a quick heads up on Symphonic Choirs with the videos on it and wordbuilder.

with the recent advent of those who've made video for their products, it absolutely amazes me that anyone would forego such a powerful medium for attracting and educating new customers turning them into power users as opposed to endless sufferers of " how do I work this thing without going to school?"

I hope you incorporate this kind of empowering approach to many of your future releases.

I've watched the WordBuilder tutorials and think Symphponic Choirs is absolutely fantastic! My only question: is this type of voice articulation available when using SC as a 'plug in' from a DAW such as Cakewalk's Sonar? The voice libraries would most likely be DXi or VST's, but how does the Votox information get passed between SC and your DAW software?

Thanks Doug! That's exactly what I was looking for. EastWest has some "Holiday Bundle Packages" that I don't think I can pass up. :) I'm running Sonar 6 and just wanted to make sure it's all compatible. Thanks again!

Those vids are great!
Now for those people complaining about the .mov format, there is a way to play those files on you DAW pc without installing the freakin' quicktime
You can use the free VLC player (the zipped format, not the one with the installer)
it can even run from a flash drive and contains all the needed codecs to play most video files
if you encounter problems with mov files just use this setting:
go to preferences, output modules click advanced and select windows GDI output module
I use it to watch many tutorials on my daw pc

I have listened to all the Wordbuilder videos, but as I am a blind customer, I can't see what's going on. I can only hear him describe what he's doing. For example, I don't see what features he's clicking on. So, I'm wondering, how would I adapt Wordbuilder to work with JAWS 9.0, Caketalking, and Sonar 7 Producer Edition?

I downloaded the Logic setup vids for wordbuilder, but there doesn't seem to be any audio on them. Any chance I can get the ones with audio so I can hear how to do the setup?

They only seem to be the setup videos for logic 7 & 8, and a couple of templates. There is no sound on the QTs, which i guess is fine as you can see what's going on, but when i try and use either of the templates I receive error messages that they are "Damaged" or "not a Logic Pro Song".

and to get back to the videos, this thread seems to be about these quicktime tutorials:
"Go here to download the 8 lessons"
"Very useful, intelligible and stimulating!"
"I started watching the tutorials at a church function and I suddenly had a group of people gathered around."

It's pretty safe to say these comments don't relate to the two quicktimes that mostly consist of watching logic & patches load up. sorry if i sound a little frosty, but i've found the support for these eastwest products to be pretty awful. even just locating the manual was a trial!

If anyone has the tutorial vids quoted in the thread subject could they post them somewhere please? it would be so helpful! :-)

I purchased Symphonic Choirs and wordbuilder a few years ago but have never used the product to date.

When I went to the website for the 8 lessons they are no longer being offered. Where can I get the tutorials to download?

Thanks
