Does anyone here know the name of this instrument? It was developed I think around 80 years ago or something as an experimental instrument.

Cant remember what it's called, Ive got a memory loss!!!

Hi O-Start,

I have made a search for you and I found the answer. This instrument is called a Stroh violin.

I studied the image you posted and I was seeing three instruments: 1) A gramophone, 2) a violin and 3) some kind of horn. On Google, I set up my search with the words "gramophone" and "violin" only. Instantly, on page 1 of Images, I found an image looking the same as the one you posted. With a few more search I gathered the following information:

Stroh Violin comes from the name of its inventor => Johannes Matthias Augustus Stroh.
It was invented in 1899.
It is still on the market worth ≈500.00$ US if what I say is true. I am not sure if it is discontinued.
Visit http://www.jonroseweb.com/f_projects_stroh_violins.html for more information. :)
