I have a really frustrating problem that I was hoping someone could help me fix. I've been trying for hours to figure out how to use the master keyswitch feature in Play SO, and have had no luck. As I understand it it should simply be a matter of opening up the piano roll in Sonar LE and then placing a note outside of the instruments range (such as B0 for Sus Vib Soft on the solo violin), but it is doing nothing and driving me crazy. I'm not sure if the problem is with Sonar LE or Play, but whenever I have the Master Keyswitch selected it will only play the E1 staccato on the solo violin, and I've yet to figure out how to switch it. So anyway, that's my problem, I hope I'm overlooking something simple here, and I hope you can help.
Thanks!
Jackson

Alright, I finally figured it out! For some reason which I still don't understand when it's marked as C#0 in play I have to input it as C#2 on the piano roll. Strange, but it works.

Hi,

Are you using the transpose key in Sonar. Also, Sonar's center octave is different.

Note that everything you ever want to know about anything is in the PLAY System manuals, including the answer to the question about the note name being different in Sonar compared to PLAY. On page 55 in the PLAY System manual---or page 63 if you upgraded to PLAY version 1.1 and are using that new manual---I wrote the following paragraph to draw your attention to this very issue.

"The note names, such as A2 and C3, are not uniformly applied in all systems;
for example, where the EastWest PLAY System and many other software packages use C3
for Middle C—note number 60—some other packages use the name C5. Internally, all
interaction between software packages uses the consistent note numbers; just be careful
when selecting notes by name."
