Hey guys, well I first have to say I'm very happy with SC. Had a little bit of a time getting WB to talk with SC-but hey-now they're good friends.
I just had one simple question that I'm sure there's a simple answer for.
Let's say I'm trying to extend the word 'holy' over 2 notes. So the first note would essentially be 'ho' and the second note would be 'ly'. I couldn't seem to figure it out without note off kicking in every time at the end of each note!
Any help would be greatly appreciated-Thanks!

And thank you Doug for SC.

Sprit,
Try "HoO lE" in WB.
Then as long as you notice that the vowels oO overlap with the second sylabe, go to the draw editor and reposition the Red ("0")and Green Bar ("O") just to start and finish before note off (Or even better, if you extend the finish a short while after note off). try different lengths and the crossfading between the "o" and the "O" bars until the sound is correct.(If the note duration is long, you should also adjust the time position of note off, increase the time)
Besides you should advance a few ticks the midi note corresponding to the "lE" just at the point when the vowell "E" (not the consonant "l") beats at the exact midi timing
Hope it helps you
Luis

Cool-I'll try that Luis. Thanks a lot. I guess then the space between the O and the l is the separation then?? I was trying to use dashes last night-and it almost seemed to be working, but maybe I should just put a space...? Thanks

I'm not sure it makes a difference whether you use a space or a dash. Both seem to work in the same way and the advantage of using a dash is the word is visually maintained (of sorts) which may be less confusing (certainly for bears of little brain like me!).

I see-but guys-all I'm really asking is does the space or dash separte the word so I can manipulate it over 2-3-4 notes..So a word like man ip ul ate-if I played 4 consecutive notes-it should separate each syllable for each note right?

You're right. If you have four syllables then they need to be separated out to have them sound over four notes. You can separate either with spaces or hyphens/dashes. I believe that "ma-ni-pu-late" will sound the same as "ma ni pu late".

Ho o o o o lE E E would allow you to have the word Holy cover 5 notes for the 1st half of the word and 3 notes for the second half.
