I'mnew to this forum and have just started using SC/WB. I had things working fairly well, but neber could get consonants to sound. I'd only get whatever vowel sound was part of a given word.

I decided to download the update for wordbuilder, thinking that might be the problem. The update seemed to go well. Now when I try load SC/WB I get a message saying my serial numbers don't match. This really depressing.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I'm using it with Sonar - and as I said things were working well except for the consonant thing.

thanks
matt

Hello Woodshed and welcome ,

I'd only get whatever vowel sound was part of a given word.

Could be that yous consonants are falling after the note off and ned editing or you need to adjust the consonant volume slider !

Did you type a 1 (one) instead of an I or vice versa or did you use the Kompakt serial by mistake for WB

First of all, do not worry, things will work very soon.

I should need more info on what are the choirs you load, (the soloist are not supported by WB so load another one).

Be sure you select in WB the matching choir in the combo box "voice type".

Then make sure that the consonants are in the Votox vocabulary (upper case is not the same as lower case consonants)

Then make sure that the consonants volume slider are at a medium position.

It it does not work you should give more details on how are you working.

Regards
Luis

Thanks for the quick responses guys.

Right now I just want to get WB working again - then I will check for the volume slider and such.

I believe I put all the serial number characters in correctly, but I can't seem to get to a screen to even check. Upon trying to open WB, I get a meesage saying the serial number don't match with Kompact player and then it just closes.

As far as the consonant thing, I was using a tenors file with "WB" in the name so I thought that would work. I wish I could get back in and check the volume sliders...

There is also a minimum version of Sonar (4.0.3) that you need to be using (although I agree that you need to get things back on track vis a vis the serial numbers before this).

Good luck.

Matt,

You've probably mixed up the WB and Kompakt serial numbers, make sure you're using the right serial with the right application.

When I first got the product, I had the same issue using Sonar. After updating Sonar with the .3 patch and several patches of Wordbuilder and SC's Kompakt updates, I'm functioning as I should *most* of the time - however any time I un-freeze tracks or sometimes if I just open a saved project or import a choirs file into Wordbuilder, I lose the consonants again. Seems kind of random.

Edit-
-Just as a side note, wordbuilder/sc in standalone mode always works - in fact the voices are clearer and crisper than anything I've been able to hear while using the DXi or VST in Sonar.

Well I suppose I can't say more than 99% sure I used the right serial # - it's clearly marked so I think I did. Unfortunately, I can't even open the program or find a way to check. I figured I do the update before I started asking stupid questions here and seemed to have screwed myself yet again...

What are my options? As I said I wasn't having any problems using SC/WB (in the few short hours I had with it) and Sonar. Only the consonant thing and it looks like there was several easy fixes to check for (now). I'm sure there will issues down the road in that area, but for now I just want to get back up and running SC/WB!

I strictly need a way to let Kompact know I'm using a "matching" version of WB again? Do I have to just reinstall the original WB? It was originally installed at the factory where I bought a new computer and SC (there are other considerations, but SC is the main reason I upgraded my computer set up).
thanks

Matt ,

Try using the latest update installer , IIRC it gives an option to uninstall WB , uninstall WB then install the update and meticuously enter the serial number making sure 1's are not i's and 0's are not o's .

The problem you have happend to me when I installed the update and after following my instuctions above everything was OK again ;)

Thanks a lot Magpie!! Looks like I'm back in... haven't had a chance to actually use it yet but at least it opened.
I guess I didn't notice the "remove" option, I just saw that it was installed and didn't know I had to remove it first.

Much appreciation!
