I am having a problem with a closing consonant when running SC as a plugin from within the sequencer. Take a word like "page" and in votox spell it PiEj. What stumps me is that if I play the word in real time, the "j" or orange sound is very pronounced as I release the key. It doesn't seem to matter how long I hold the note or with what velocity I play it. However if I record that same real time playing and then play it back with the sequencer. I get no ending "j" sound. The long "A" vowel sound just fades out. I originally thought this had something to do with the length of the midi note but nothing I do either in editing the midi note or editing the word in WB seems to correct it. I am sure I am missing something.

Hello LucidMusic ,

You will probably find it is something to do with your letter timings ......

You may notice that my default wordbuilder likes to continue a vowel untill the note off line,
you say What stumps me is that if I play the word in real time, the "j" or orange sound is very pronounced as I release the key which indicates the E lasts untill note of and the j is after note off in wordbuilder .

when you play the words from the keyboard you are probably holding the keys longer than the actuall midi note in the sequencer .........

try shortening the E and dragging the j before the note off line , or try using the learn function ;)

Thank you Magpie
Your suggestion makes sense. I am fairly new to WB and SC and though I am having what I consider a fair amount of success with the program, I still don't completely understand the relationship between the word length in "time", the tempo and the note duration. I had noticed that the vowels always run until the note off line and I am sure there is a reason for that but I don't know what it is. I will try your suggestions shortly.
