Hi guys,
in the past 2 years I was principally involved in scoring short movies, but I really would like to write music for a videogame.
I always read that a lot of you guys doing music for games (low or no budget).
Here in germany it's hard to find jobs like this. Can anybody tell me where I can search for game scoring jobs.
Regardless of whether it's local or international.
Thanks,
Tino

One question before you dive into the game industry? Are you with the GEMA? If yes, then you are going to face a big problem since it is hard for most GEMA composers to find work in the games industry due to the whole no royalty and buyout structure. (I am not familiar with GEMA, but this is what I constantly here from german GEMA composers - GEMA and game industry is a no go.)
If no then take a look at:
Low to no budget:

Paid jobs:

Most jobs come through networking though, but if you are lucky to find some jobs on of those boards/sites you might get the ball rolling. Maybe to keep in mind is that the GDC is in Cologne this year and is followed straight by the gamescon conference (also in Cologne) - I will be on both conferences in case you want to grab a beer ;)

and you might consider becoming a member of audiogang (lots of info about starting up in the game industry, discounts etc): https://www.audiogang.org/

Thank you so much Jaap! It helps a lot!
I don't now if I have the time to go to the GDC, but otherwise I let you know. ;)
I'm not a GEMA composer, not yet. ;)
Again, thank you!

You're welcome. Just look around for a good PRO beside the GEMA if you want to have work in the game industry as well (check out PRS, they are quite good).

Same problem in france, the SACEM ( french GEMA ) composers rarely work on video games.
IN fact, US composers ( or another country where buyout is allowed ) are stealing completely the jobs :D
