Hi

With regard to production how far can one go with GarageBand ? example.. I'm mainly writing music for solo piano using VST piano plug-ins etc, and I'm just looking for something good enough to be able to record a piano album on and publish for retail, and was wondering if GarageBand would be professional enough to do this on ?

I could go down the road and purchase Cubase Studio 4 but do I really need all those additional features & tools if all I’m going to be doing is recording for piano ? I do intend in the future to experiment with different sounds to create a whole score which I think cubase then may come in handy, but for now it will only be piano work.

Don't use GarageBand.
GB is too limited. Thus, it is for non professional purpose. GB is a super light version of Logic.

As you're a Mac user, you may use Cubase, ProTools, Nuendo, Logic etc. Avoid using GB.

Why not?

If all your doing is recording piano. Seems like a waste of money to buy Cubase at this point. Why not use something you already own.

Tools are tools, its how one uses them that matters.
