Hi David and Marty,

What instrument or effect would you most like to have in your set up that you haven't got or what instrument do you have that you'd really like to be able to do more with?

All the best

Eric.

I can answer this one. David has every synth and FX plug in that he wants. He has Native Instruments Komplete, Korg Legacy Collection, Spectrasonics, Omnisphere and RMX, Arturia CS-80 and Analog Factory, Camel Audio CA-5000, Play (of course!), Moddart Pianoteq.
I'll tell you a cool tip for owners of the Moddart Pianoteq. It is a sound modeled acoustic piano. If you use the randomize button, it comes up with some fantastic keyboard sounds like nothing else. It has an organic quality that i really like and keyboard velocity makes for some really cool tonal changes. As far as instruments we would like to do more with, All of them! Most of the modern instruments are deep, you could go on forever exploring the tonal possibilities. With the deadlines we are faced with, we don't have a lot of time. I do sound design as part of my job and it works something like this: After screening the movie David will ask me for a batch of sounds. I will go through his libraries and get together more than he asked for. I program some, tweak others, add some effects and save them as channel strips in Logic. I'll create a folder to put the channel strips in. As the movie progresses we save all the signature sounds for the movie in that channel strip folder.
