Hi David,

One of my principle challenges is staying on top of changes to picture. On my first feature film, I was lucky in that I was working to a locked picture, but increasingly changes occur even at the last second particularly where vfx are concerned. This of course initially involves re-conforming the music to picture to hit new timings etc but then you also get into version tracking - i.e. which version of the cut are we on etc? Have we reverted to an earlier cut? I have an excel spreadsheet and file headers to help me with this, but I was wondering if you or Marty can provide any insight on how you approach this problem.

Many thanks for taking part in our community!

There is a program called CUE LOG that I had developed for this kind of thing. Also, there is a program called Cue Chronicler (I think that's what it's called) that does the same thing. you have to be ORGANIZED...ALWAYS!!!!! - it's so important or you will drive yourself crazy. Changes are part of the job, so you should plan for it and make it as simple as possible.
