Anyone know of a great synth program which has ambient sounding pads, Synths and popular synths. Is omnisphere any good??

Omnisphere is amazing, it has loads of preset pads and ethereal sounds and its really easy to tweak or make your own. There is a 40gb library of stuff to delve into and make patches from so I'm sure you could find what you're looking for.

I can also vouch for Omnisphere. It's kind of the end all be all synth for me, I don't need anything else. It's worth it.
I also have some pieces I am working on that have Omnisphere solo in some parts, the ambient pads you're talking about.

Dude! Omnishpere is AMAZING!!!
It even has some nice choirs, and strings to go along with all of the granular synthesis and coolness...
Lots of warmth from Omnishpere, you will get!

You could try Rob Papen Albino 3, it's also excellent.

Really? I tried figuring it out and it's just not as appealing as Omnisphere.

Yes...I've never used Omnisphere but Albino is a beast.

I agree, Albino is also very good. Probably my second favourite after Omnisphere.

If I had to only choose one synth, It would be omnisphere, it sounds amazing, and has a very big variety of sounds, most are very usable. It was a big step up from Atmosphere, which had some really nice spacey sounds, but alot of what made atmosphere unique often made it hard for me to fit into a musical context, anything that at least did not sit on one note. Lots of one note wonders. Omnisphere is the same, but at least has evolved into something that to me, is more usable. I am not sure how it would do for popular type pads, as it really is a sound design, ambient based synth, not really poppy, but I am sure you will find some stuff that will fit that bill.

Is there a tutorial? All I see is red when I open it up!

Do you mean you see a blank red canvas, or you mean just the red boxes and writing etc? I don't know if there's a tutorial for it, I suppose any tutorial covering synthesis would be helpful. you could try and get a pdf of the Albino manual.

Yeah, I'll look into that. My manual for some reason is corrupted, or won't open in PDF format...
Thanks.
Absynth is a great synth for pads/scapes/drones.
