Hi All - Ive been given the task to compose a track with some resemblance to turkish music.

That means that while listening there should be something hinting the presence of turkish elements here and there, though the piece should not be a traditional folk tune. More of a nuance instead.

Im trying to find out the turkish scale first of all, but Im struggling to find it even online.

Do you know what the series is?

Tough to include some elements in a score. Will have to think very carefully. First time I deal with this sort of fusions ...

Hi ,

in this article by Victor Belaiev you'll find a diatonic turkish scale :

But , please listen to this mix of traditional turkish folk songs, to get a feeling for the flavor of traditional
turkish music ( ... which sure has a vast influence of arabic music ... ) .
This goes far beyond just knowing the scales .

Here is a good website focussing on historical aspects of turkish music :

Here's a great example for playing turkish folkstyle on a non-traditional turkish instrument ( classical acoustic guitar ) :

Maybe this inspires you a little bit .
