View Full Version : trying to identify some loops
Hi guys,
I'm trying to identify some loops used in the background music of the temporary "coming soon" website of Versace (http://www.versace.com).
Do you know what sample libraries have been used there?
Also I thought that the use of an entirely exposed loop without nothing else (like in this case) wasn't allowed by all sample libraries producers. Am I wrong?
Thanks!
Cheers,
A

Hmm .. sounds like a drum computer to me (and not a very good one at that). Could be anything. Use of exposed loops aren't allowed by at least EW (and probably many more), but in this case the percussion is embedded in music with other instruments. Regardless, I very much doubt that whoever manufactured the samples, will make a big deal of it.

Sounds like it might be RMX, but could actually be anything.

Well, yeah, but in this case there are only a few bars of the exposed loop, and then more layers of instruments kick in, so 1) the sample lib dev would be shooting himself in the foot if he ever went after someone for that, and 2) you don't know that that is a single loop - it sounds that way, but it could be two or three loops married together. Alot of times I blend multiple RMX loops together, and it sounds as one. Which, technically, is the point.
Cheers.
Many thanks for the replies! :)
I've always thought that a loop should never be exposed in its entirety, even for only 4 bars and even if other instruments come in after, but maybe in this case it's a combination of loops like Jeff said.
Cheers,
A
