Kompakt 1.09 compatible with Kontakt 4?

I've searched and searched. Can't find an answer because there are no manuals for Kontakt 4 online.

I've got the old version of CCC. Will my stuff run with Kontakt 4? I presume so, but I'm not sinking THOUSANDS for nothing.

Since Kontakt 4 is the same engine as Kontakt 3.5, you can run your Kompakt version of CCC no problem.

I use K3.5 to run Choirs, Platinum XP and Stormdrum.

I figured this was the case, but you never know eh? When there is no Kontakt 4 manual and the NI website is all marketing dribble, its impossible to say what the deal is.

I think I'm going to upgrade my copy of Reaktor 3 to Komplete 6 LOL

If you are a Kontakt 3 or maybe even Komplete 5 user, NI offers a number of very attractive upgrade options that you might want to look into. For Komplete 5 users, for example, the upgrade to Komplete 6 (including Kontakt 4 and an upgraded / updated Absynth 4 and Guitar Rig) is only $ 160 which is a really attractive deal - nowhere near thousands of dollars.

pete, my copy of Reaktor 3 ? has been sitting unused for probably 4 years. To pick up all those NI programs for 400 bucks is a steal when each one of them would normally cost me 400+ EACH.

I'll confess that I never use Reaktor either - just never got the hang of it, too complicated perhaps. Every now and then I try to work my way through a few pages of the the manual and try out a few things but the lightbulb hasn't ignited for me yet. Maybe some day.

By contrast, Absynth 4 is fanastic - really easy to use and I can only find great sounds with no trouble at all. And that's been overhauled as well - for me that, and perhaps the new sounds and features in Kontakt 4, are worth the price of admission alone.

Ok, enough talk about NI on the EW forums already ... ;)
