Good morning everyone:

Here's an interesting video about the "Keeping Score" series (where Michael Tilson Thomas takes you behind the scenes of a several well known symphonies).

The second episode of Keeping Score will air tonight, by the way, featuring Holiday by Ivens. Broadcast for Northern California is 10 pm (KQED). Last week's episode about Berlioz' Symphonie Fantastique was really interesting, this was should be good as well.

I just saw the Charles Ives program friday night. It was very interesting.

However, The program to see is the Gustavo Dudamel Premeire as the new conductor of the LA Philharmonic Orchestra. I saw it last week when it was first shown on KCET, and again last night when they re-showed it.

This guy is an amazing conductor, only 29, and very charismatic.

He conducted the Premiere performance of John Adams "City Noir", an unbelievable piece of music.

Then he conducted Mahler's Symphony #1 without a score, for memory!

Hey Peter - I just watched it. THANK you very much for this. Simply amazing at the money that must have went into the cameras and rigs. Wow. And the amount of concentration it must take to direct the edits. Unbelievable.
