Good evening everyone:

For anyone living in the SF Bay Area, if you have nothing better to do tomorrow morning, join me and 3,000 other guitar players in the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Woodstock by playing live Jimi Hendrix' 'Purple Haze'. See http://www.2b1records.com/woodstock40sf/

This is not just in honor of Woodstock and Jimi Hendrix, it is also an attempt for the Guiness' Book of Records for the world's largest guitar ensemble.

Venue: Golden Gate Park. Signup as of 7 am, performance 10 am, presided by multiple Grammy Award winner Narada Michael Walden.

Be there!

ps I live right next door, feel free to drop by.

Just borrowed Wood Stock Revisited by Susan Reynolds from the library. Hope you enjoy(ed) your day. Let us know if you make the record.

That was a lot of fun, and very noisy. Lots of old and new hippies, and shouts for "love" and "peace". Jimi's brother and his cousin were in the band too.

Not sure whether we broke the record - there didn't seem to be 3,000 guitar players based on my rough estimate (more like a couple of hundred). Apparently there were 1,000 guitar players in the UK joining us live via telecast as well so who knows. Guess we'll find out in a couple of days, it will take a bit of time to tally all the registrations.
