Hi
I am sure many here like me are storing sample libraries such as those of EastWest on external devices and I was wondering if anyone has advice for me as I have recently encountered some problems.
Connected to my MBP I have a Lacie FW drive with an Apogee Duet daisy chained to this.
My Lacie HD is about a year old and has been fine until during a recent Logic session all of a sudden I received a device removal (warning) message for the drive although it was still connected to the relevant ports!? I also had to force quit Logic following this.
This has now happened a few times and I have actually found that the drive has frozen entirely and needs to be turned off at the wall to get the power light to go off.
When I reconnnect the device however the computer does recognise it and it mounts on the desktop (at least at first).
I thought that the problem could have been down to the FW cable but the same problem has occured with a different one.
Also when I try verify disc in the disc utility it reports no problems.
Any advice greatly appreciated
Cheers
