Hi!
This was also on NS but EWforum is closed now so I reposting it here.
It is a Second movement of my "contemporary"Symphony...
Thanks for any comments...

This is quite interesting and very realistic sounding. I don't normally enjoy "modern"
but this is an exception.

Would you please post the first movement?

Thanks,

Steve

Interesting piece but the orchestra feeling is missing (too "dry"). What makes you
say that the piece is "modern"? LG

I think this piece (2nd mvt of Symphony 2 by Jan Skacelik) demonstrates a mastery in compositional technique that is well above many of the demo pieces in the forum.
It's true that it doesn't have a *big* "orchestral sound"... but the composer here is clearly aiming at something else than a Hollywood filmtrack!
And there are other ways of creating a feeling of "something big" than the "Hollywood sound".

I would be curious to know if the composer uses a formal approach, or perhaps a mix of formal approaches (sorry, I realise that's a bit self-contradictory! :D )

P.S. - Sorry, I said "2nd Symphony" by Jan Skacelik but of course it's "1st Symphony"
- What version of EWQLSO is this done with?
- Will you be posting the other movements?

Very nice! Congrats!

I have never heard that symphony on NS! I wonder how do you get your inspiration? Do you have a thematic line in your mind?

The playing around 04.10 is very interesting. Do you wrote it before recording?
