If you allocate different articulations to your Symphonic Orchestra Kompakt you could in theory switch channels for the notes that require different articulations instead of drawing them with the pencil tool in the key editor. This is clearly stated in the manual but how do you get this done in Cubase?? From the key editor I tried to change channel but there are no differences in sound playback. Im sure Im missing out something.

Id appreciate some help,
Many thanks,

Set up several instrument articulations in the Kompakt Player to play on different midi channels. Use only one track in Cubase then in the key editor highlight the note you want to change and change the channel in the info line.

thanks for this, I did try that out in the past, but it seems that the articulation remains the same throughout in playback. Is there anything wrong you think with set ups or somethin'?

Cheers

Hey Squirrel,

You need to make sure the MIDI channel assignment in your MIDI track is set to "Any". If it is set to a specific MIDI channel (1, 2, etc.) all of the notes in that MIDI track will be sent to that channel regardless of the MIDI channel assignments of the specific notes in the key editor.

To that end, don't forget to make sure that all of your articulations in the Kompakt player are set to different channels or else they'll all end up playing together.

I hope this helps,

Matt

Right Matt that's it, thanks a lot, this is the detail I was missing. It's great to receive hints and help from other online brothers!

Listened to some of your tracks, they sound cool .. I liked safari! It's the typical ethnic-like soundtrack I love to hear in films.
