Hello,
If you're a more advanced user of Logic, I've created a macro for Logic Pro 7.1 that allows you to use C0-G0 to keyswitch among any 8 instruments loaded into Kompakt (or whatever you like). It works by switching the channel of incoming notes, and then filtering them to the appropriate track.
Let me know if you find it useful. Instructions are included in the zip.

I figured this was worth a bump. Very cool thanks!

Sam I tried this and it works but the release on ch1 keeps playing no matter what other channel I am on.

Hi Chris,
You've discovered why I haven't bumped it :(
Long story short, the trick involves switching channels. If you keyswitch when holding down a note, that note will stick. In the Logic environment, the work around was to send a note-off for every channel whenever you release a key. The downside is that the Kompakt player does not keep track of what notes are held down, and so sends a release trail for every note off, regardless of whether or not the note was ever on. I originally tested this with Colossus, where not every sample had release trails. I just tried it recently with Gold and wasn't too happy...perhaps in the near future I'll find a better way.

I found a way to make it work and perhaps this is because I am using Logic 7.2. I unpacked the macro (and the macro inside that). After seeing how you accomplished the setup I simply removed the note off portion and rewired it back in line. It worked perfectly after that.
The drawback is that it obviously won't work with anything that plays in that low register. The other downside is any controller changes that are drawn in after the fact need to have their channel reassigned in order to work (unless there is a way to draw in channel specific automation).
Despite the lack of chase working properly I have just started using the Bank feature of K2 as my way to switch articulations.

Very cool! If you keyswitch while holding down a note, it doesn't stick? I'd love if you can send the modified environment back to me via Email.

Ah shoot! I must not have noticed it before. You are correct - it won't work. I will stick with the Bank feature of K2.
Thanks
Chris
