Hello,
First I'd like to say hi, this is my first post on this forum.
I'm am currently writing a soundtrack for a full length 3D animated movie, & hope for Symphonic Choirs to play a big part in the music.
I purchased Sym. Choirs last week and I'm having problems with physical and virtual memory warnings from Windows.
Our in-house engineer just installed a new Mother Board, 2gbs RAM,300gb H. Drive, for me because I've been getting these warnings.
I had only one hour yesterday to test the new setup before a flight, BUT STILL I'm getting the "physical memory is low, do you really want to continue" message ! ? !
First here's my setup:
Pentium 4 2.56GHz processor
300gb 7200rpm Hard Drive
2gb RAM
Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2
Nuendo 2
Delta 1010LT soundcard
Roland PC-300
What I did yesterday was create a new project in Nuendo 2>added Wordbuilder as an insert>loaded the full multi>F Bass WB DYN MOD. While the multi was loading once again I got the "physical memory low" warning!!!
I've read the manual page to page. I know this is a power hungry multi.I haven't had time to test the software in Standalone mode yet..
WOULD WORDBULDER REALLY WORK BETTER IF I INSTALL A SECOND H.DRIVE? (our engineer prefers to have just one hard drive so the computer doesn't run so hot, I've always used 2 drives for the obvious reasons, and I'm considering adding my 80gb 7200rpm H.Drive) WOULD INSTALLING A 2nd DRIVE SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?
IS MY COMPUTER JUST NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH?????????? The motherboard won't take anymore RAM. Are there any settings in Windows or in my soundcard I can adjust to optimize performance?
I'm concerned that the "virtual memory warning mesage" will come back too next time I try this test. WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THAT PROBLEM??? (the difference between these 2 types of memory is unclear to me)
AM I JUST DOING SOMETHING WRONG???
The bottom line is: I'm on a tight deadline, it took alot of talking to the producer to get him to flip the bill for the software and new hardware. I'm very happy with the sounds in "Symphonic Choirs" but I need it to do what it says it can do. If I'm geting memory warnings on an empty project, I hate to imagine what will happen when there's audio/midi tracks in the project, not to mention video. At the moment the producer & engineer are thinking that I/they made a big mistake. Can you please tell me what I need to do so I can get back to work and show them the money was well spent.
Sorry if I'm ranting, I just need answers asap. Hope to hear back from you before the holiday/weekend break. Need some peace of mind.

Thanx in advance for your help/advice.
Happy Holidays,
