Could someone please compare/contrast Outer Limits with Vapor with Atmosphere?
I'm in the market for a pad type library/synth and any help would be greatly appreciated...Grazi! :D

Hi I only know vapor and Outer limits
There are definitely not the same things
Vapor is more an electro instrument with bass, Lead, Arp, some FX and Pads. I use it to include electro sounds in my demos.
Outer limits is specialized in FX, Soundscapes and Pads, not the same thing, it helps to do a big ambiance (Horror, Space, Electro, etc...)
I've never used Atmosphere, so I can't say you ;)

Well, I have Atmosphere and not the other two. :p
Based on what Tchoyy described, Atmosphere is a combination of both. It has a huge selection of patches divided up into categories:
Ambient, Bell Tones, Big Swells, Evolving Moods, Intricate Motion, Noises, Pads, Solo, Strings, Sweeping, Synth Bass, Synth, Vinyl. Some of these have their own sub-categories. For example, Ambient has 17 sub-categories such as Breathing Air, Brooding Menace, and Electronic Sci-Fi.
Most patches are made up of two patches, A and B. You can create and endless variety of sounds by simply combining any of the patches into new A/B combinations.
Although Atmosphere does have a decent collection of edgy sounds, it's not really targeted toward the raw Electronica crowd. I doubt that Crystal Method or BT uses Atmosphere much. A lot of Atmosphere is geared toward film score oriented sounds. I use it mostly to add ambience and textures to my stuff.
I'd definitely recommend it as it's a part of my small virtual instrument collection that I couldn't do without.

Oh a precision about Vapor and Outer Limits, It works with a kompakt that is included, so you can load up to 8 instruments with one instance.

ATMOSPHERE is one of the best software with "fat" pad and the "big sound" never create.Wonderful for create strange atmosphere.
>Neil.
I agree about Atmosphere. It is one of my favorite libs that never disappoints. It would be hard to compare any other ambient/synth lib to it due to the sheer volume and quality of samples. The player is great too.
