What's the easiest way to get audio samples onto your computer?
Is there a program that automatically splits a track by silence detected within? and exports individual unsilent parts?
and what's the fastest program to use that converts an audio CD into wav/aiff files?

hmm, you could do everythin with wavelab or similar programs.
i personally wouldnt rely on an atupmatic program which edits my silent parts etc.
maybe you can go more specific in what you want to do?

I want to get the audio sound from the CD and onto my computer as fast as possible.
Some of the tracks have multiple sounds on them so I will need to split the ripped track into pieces... I want this to be as easy as possible in a small amount of time...
Is wavelabs a good program? how is it compared to others like soundforge and adobe audition?

wavelab is as professional as soundforge or whatever. it is just a mater of taste which one you like. all people i know use wavelab but i think there is no program which cuts you all files into snippets and removes the silence in between. at least i haven't heard of anything like that ... and i cut and edit my files manual.

As far as I know, Emulator X will automatically split up samples for you - but I haven't tried it yet. Check their website www.emu.com
Hope this helps
