I bet this man is a bassist !
Actually he uses the slap technique that we use when playing the bass guitar, this needs a good rythmic, so played on a guitar in this way it is indeed very impressive !

Hey guys....FNG here....
Preston Reed plays in a similar style, I've seen him perform at NAMM a few times and it's pretty unreal. Here's a clip.

on linux ..
about stanley jordan, is a technics well known , he used t odo it on an electric guitar but the real instrument is the Stick with a lof of more strings..
I studyed that techincs when Jordan was playing Starway to Heaven .. while ago.. for sure on an acoustic guitar ..you need strong fingers ;)
t obe able to play piano of course help a lot .. if I remember well Jordan was also a pianist.
there is a guy that play with this technic on Covent Gardens Square ( LONDON) quite often.. he is really good and talented

Percussion, Electric, Acoustic. Drums, Tempo, Breaks, Velocity
MAN!
This guy is like Cubase and Symphonic Orchestra all rolled into one ;) :D
A single guitar - playing licks, plucks, strums, beats on the guitar body, FX with the strings...
Amazing stuff!

I wonder if they are using an altnernative tuning to the guitar to get some of these sounds and chords. My guitar sure doesn't sound like that, I wonder if its broken :(

Another tune definitely and probably this one: (from thin to wound) D-A-F#-D-A-D
Very strong guy Justin!
According to doolinguitars.com:
"Justin first approached me to build a doubleneck steel-string with two identical DADGAD-tuned necks to support his unique two-handed tapping style."
That flamenco strum he does is amazing!

Yeah, DaDGAD, that is what i thought. So kewl, I have heard others play with this particular style, and I so love it, in fact I would love to learn more of the technique. I wonder if there is some instructional video to get a good starting point. I am a decent player so have a good foundation, and truly would love to play this way too.

I did look at the movie carefully and trying doing something like that on my guitar I did notice that, yes it's very difficult, but with some months of training I could do almost the same, but not by my guitars.
I have a nylon strings classical (a Brazilian Som Douro guitar) that's not right to it (the neck is too large, the strings are too high on the frets and too hard stretched).
My second guitar is a Godin Multiac (that's absolutely great, with an amazing pickup) with light tension nylon strings, low on the neck's frets, but..... it's a solid body and for this style the body is a must.
Being that I've decided to try with this style I need a handy steel strings guitar with body and a professional pick up on board.
I love Martin guitars, but they are too expensive.

Maybe an Ovation? I had an Ovation, many years ago, but when I started music College studies I sold it to buy a classical guitar.

I've also checked out Doolin Guitars and they are very nice

There are also the Washburn guitars. Yes, the same Company that did manifacture the great Ra's 1890 Washburn.

Does somebody have some suggestions?

I've checked http://www.larrivee.com/ and the guitars look great, but the models' list is very long.
Do you know these models?

To me, I am very leary of buying a guitar without first having laid my hands on it. there is nothing better then getting a feel of an instrument. I almost bought my last electric strictly online, and going based on information and such, and then i went to the music store and found the same guitar and got to try it out, and I am so glad i did not get it, just didn't feel right in my hands. Some guitars you pick up, and they just melt in your hands, others takes work to get used to. Now with larivee's, at least the ones I have played, there hasn't been too much of a difference in feel from guitar to guitar, which I like, mainly just variables such as, if it has a pickup, or if it is a cutaway, and other things. So, I know music stores are now carrying larivee's, go and see if you can find one there, if not, those pics look nice, and if you can do without the pickup, cause I don't think those have one in it.
on that website, I found a comparison chart on some of the body specs of the different titles,
http://www.larrivee.com/flash/products/compare/compare.html
might help explain what you are looking at.
