I am having trouble getting wordbuilder and logic to work. I have gone through the tutorials in the EWQLSC_FAQ pdf and I tried downloading the LogicSATB file with the logic template that has the environment basically set up already and gone through each twice and still don't get any sound. I am suprised that these two are on the website right now and are as different as they are as far as (sorry for all the as's) how you set up the environment. One has you copy the audio instrument with the kompakt plug-in on it from the "mixer environment" into the clicks and ports page and connect the physical input word builder port 2 to that, and the other already has four little audio objects labeled "word builder 1", word builder 2" etc. I have not fooled with the environment that much and it's catching up to me. I will can start learning more about it, but hoped someone could jumpstart me a bit. I found out about a site called "swiftkick.com" that has alot of info on the environment but have only known about it for 4 or 5 days. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I Erichzann... I'm a Logic (7.2) user too... wich version are you using?
The file (LogicSATB.zip) you have to download (and it, for sure, works in my Logic!) is at the following link... to get the file, you've just to click on the word "here"...:
http://support.soundsonline.com/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=30&id=2&artlang=en

...try it, and if doesn't (still) work let us know...
Look! Be careful to open first the WB and, just then, lunch Logic...

I've followed the instructions and it's no too difficult... I don't know from how long do you use Logic... if you find hard to add the few things (wrote in the pdf) that you need to get the SC working, ask...

Sorry for my english...
Cheers.

Thank you for your help, I am still not getting it to work though. You are right, it is not that hard, or shouldn't be, everything seems laid out very simply, but it just isn't working for me, and I can't figure out why. When opening WordBuilder I set the Midi In port to "Virtual WordBuilder 1" and Midi Out port to "VWB 2" like it says to do in one of the the other setup tutorials. When I open the LogicSATB file I get pop up dialogs saying "When instrument "Tenors" sends to a midi port named "WordBuilder 3" of midi interface "virtual" which no longer exists" and the same for midi port "WordBuilder 4". I would think that I could follow the directions for 1 and 2 (connecting from the physical input to the choir objects with cables) but those don't work either

thanks again

Hello,

The logic template comes with a WordBuilder choir file that you should be using. Please use the choir file, as it sets up everything for you. Make sure that Logic is not open. Then, open the choir file first, then the Logic template.

This is all explained in the PDF readme that comes with both the choir file and the template. Please read the PDF, and follow the instructions. If you are following them, you should not have to set any ports manually in WordBuilder.

I have removed the other PDF file posted on this foum because people would read both and then mix and match steps. Please, use only the steps found in the PDF downloaded with the template.

-Sam

When I wrote that I was opening WordBuilder, I meant I was clicking on the WordBuilder icon that says "choir" from the SATB folder. I am doing this before opening the SATB logic session, like the instructions say. Unlike the instructions say though, when I open this Choir WordBuilder file, four WB windows do not open and the dialog asking me to choose midi ins and outs comes up just like it would if I just opened the WB from the applications window. So it's not supposed to ask me to set the ins and outs if I use the Choir file?

Do you have the latest WB 1.1.2 version?

...strange... when you d-click on the WB Choir's file "LogicSATB" (yes, the names are the same... the Logic file just ends with ".lso") you should have the opening of four WB windows (and no "asking windows")...

Sorry if I insist...:
Are you sure that Logic (the Application itself) is closed when you launch WB?
Do you have the last version of WB?
(this, maybe, is stupid... but... have you repaired the "system permissions" after installing WB?)
Wich version of Logic are you using on wich MacOS version...?

...don't be "offended" if I've asked you "dumb questions"... :o

Ok, now I am getting the four WB windows with no "asking windows"

But, when I load the multis I am getting no sound when I play the keys (yes, I have words typed in WB and yes, I made the five cable connections in the environment)
I am using Logic 7.1.0 and OSX 10.3.9 (no, I haven't switched to tiger) could these be a problem?

Used Logic standalone. It was very frustrating and I got never anything done. Changed to Cubase SX3 and everything is perfect. Now I can use also Choirs plug-ins.

Hi Erich... mmm... to this answer I leave the way to Sam (I think he knows better then me)... I just can say that I don't trust Logic 7.1.0 very much... but I don't think it should be the problem...

...have you selected, in the Arrange window, the track with the MIDI instrument? ...is your master in the "right setup"?

...you are closer! :) Don't give up!

Cheers...

Could be Cubase SX3 a good choice? I'm a Logic Express user but i don't know to wich software to upgrade...

Are you getting MIDI into Logic at all (check the transport)?

If so, is WordBuilder getting MIDI? Are you selecting the tracks with MIDI plugs on them to record, and not the ones with AU?
