I know this might be a wild card
but I really want to get into scoring for film
I plan to go to college for it
with that said
anybody know where I can buy scores from movies?
or is that and impossible task to accomplish these days?

You'll find some rearranged partitions of famous movies scores here for full orchestra.

The only things you are going to find for sale are John Williams stuff and some stuff done by other composers that have been arranged by people who may or may not do a good job. There's a lot of film score sheet music out there though you just have to know the right people. :) Here's what I would do is just take the Scott Smalley orchestration course and he gives you this huge thing of film cues. It has a lot of Poledouris on there and some Batman and other stuff. The course is worth the price alone just to get the sheet music. Although I should add it might not be worth it if you live far from LA or NY where the courses are.

Hmmm I can't find information about it on the site where I saw it. There should be some people on here who have taken the course and know where to look. I know Scott just held one a few weeks ago in LA.

Yeah. I would agree. Don't worry about learning to score for film. That takes all of about two weeks to learn. Learn how to write music. That's the hard part.

And, don't think it's a long shot. Film scoring is open to anyone. Now if you want to be Hans Zimmer. Then yeah. That's a long shot. But not impossible.
