Hello,
If I write and orchestrate all music in a film and perform it (using products of EWQL), for what credits should I ask? Just "Original Music By...?" or what think you guys?

Anyone? I mean is, what is the best credit I can get for the orchestration, composing, and performing that I did. What is the credit that says all of these? "Original Music Composed, Orchestrated and Performed by..." ?
Thank you!

If it were me I would be slighly humble and take "Original Music by . . ." or "Music Composed and Performed by . . ." I don't remember seeing "orchestrated" on a credit except for on the closing credits and the soundtrack albums. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Christian,

to settle the matter once for all:
"Composer Christian Wood"

Cheers

Yeh, short and sweet... it says pretty much all you have to say. :)

If you are the composer AND you did the performances, then if you only say "composer Joe Who" or "Composed by Martha Watt" it begs the question of "okay, who is the conductor and/or orchestra", doesn't it?

At a mininum it should be "Music composed and performed by ___" imho. On the "Properties" tab of all of the music which I disseminate, I routinely put "composed, arranged, performed, mixed and produced by (me)".

Anything else is negotiable (unless you've agreed to a contract says otherwise), but I never settle for less than ""Music composed and performed by ___".

Just my humble $0.02 ... :) KevinKauai

I believe it was "Thusgoeththeland" who posed the original question, but I do like the sound of Composer Christian Wood. Thanks for the compliments. :)
