Hey yall,
Typically when I print a score I print it on letter size paper and have it blown up to 10 x 14 or some such at kinkos. Just wondering if there is a good laser printer (for mac) that can print on various sizes (score sizes) of paper?
thanks,
M

I purchased an HP LaserJet 5000DN on Ebay a while back and love it. It is truly a workhorse printer and not only prints letter size, but 11x17 (tabloid) as well; the icing on the cake- it comes with a built-in duplex unit that allows you to print front and back. These new are about $4000. I found mine on Ebay for $600. I couldn't pass it up.

so James, tabloid size is a bit large for a score. I think the ideal score size is about 11"x14" so do you print on tabloid, or do you format your score for a different size and then trim off the excess fat with a paper shearer?

HP also makes a very affordable (and fairly speedy) line of OfficeJet/DeskJet printers that go up to Tabloid size. I got DeskJet 9650 for under $250 (now out of the current HP product line but available from some channels, including Amazon -- or was 2 months ago). It does every size up to tabloid. (I use 11 x 17 for full scores coming out of Sibelius 4.)

i hope this helps, schnurg ... KevinKauai

Thanks Kevin. I've had some issues with sloppy printing with my previous inkjet and wanted to go for the laser for score printing this time around. Unfortunatly, the cheapest mac osx compatible tabloid laser printer i can find is the HP Laserjet 5200 series starting at $1400. so maybe i will conider an inkjet. thanks!
