Does anyone know how to set-up and use WordBuilder with GarageBand? I can't find instructions anywhere? I have newly installed WB, NI, and Sym. Choirs Gold... all works well, but cannot get WordBuilder to play/sing MIDI notes in GarageBand. Need step-by-step set-up and how to use instructions. Thanks!

I don't think that you can use WB with garage band. In fact, I don't think you can use it with Logic Express either. You really need to use Logic Pro 7 for it to work correctly. Perhaps others can shed more light on this.

Unfortunately, because Gargageband has limited MIDI capability, you cannot use Wordbuilder/choirs with it. It will work just fine with Logic Express as this has the same MIDI functionality as Logic Pro. What you will gain by upgrading to Logic Pro is audio mixing functionality (multiple outputs, etc).

Sort of...

Logic Express has limited MIDI capability as well. You can only use one voice at a time in Logic Express.

Logic Pro is the only Apple-produced sequencing application that fully supports WordBuilder and Symphonic Choirs.

Only stand alone. That's not "fully". And one can't use bounce...

Yes, you can bounce in real time.

And I consider standalone fully functional with Logic as you can use every single feature that WordBuilder has to offer, including multiple voices.

What else would it mean?

Yes, you can bounce in real time.

Only if you have enough h/w power.

This will be my last post arguing here, but I know few composers who work with Virtual Instruments that they can't hear at all until offline bouncing. Pro Tools doesn't even allow offline bouncing, I don't think.

If at any time you can hear choirs during playback, you can bounce it to an audio track (same concept as the 'freeze' button). If you don't have enough h/w power to run all your plugins at once, you freeze or bounce them until you do. That's common practice. That's perfectly functional with Choirs, WordBuilder, and Logic.

I will concede that you cannot 'freeze' a Choirs track with a single button click in Logic.
