I recently saw an advert on TV for 'The Da Vinci Code'

Being a huge fan of Trailer scores composed by Nick Phoenix, I instantly noticed the same trailer music here as Nick did for 'The Island' - one of the best trailer scores I have heard!

I am looking forward to watching The Da Vinci Code
Out of curiosity, since the trailer music is the same for both movies, was it just the TV advert people responsible for the edit and choice of music, or is there any relation between both films Directors or Producers?

I cant wait to watch The Da Vinci Code either way since Hans Zimmer composed the score ;)

Coming back to Trailers... I just saw the new Trailer to 'Pirate Of The Carribean: Dead Man's Chest'.

The music in this is fantastic and the choirs sounded like something that would come from Nick. Anyone know if Nick composed the music for this trailer too?

Thanks

You mean the end music to The Island trailer?

Because its not Nick, its by someone called Jeff (dont know his last name) from Immediate Music. The track is called "lucius dei". Also, the choirs and orchestra are live, recorded at Abbey Road Studios.

When Immediate music licences a track it means no one else can do so for the length of time they are advertising their movie, or something like that anyway. It basically means you wont find trailers for 2 different films using the same trailer track at the same time.

Actualy referring to the trailer music only - I am sure Nick composed it as it says on his profile page in the manuals for EWQLSO

I spoke with Nick on his work for this trailer and others some time ago (great guy to speak to! )

Music score by Steve Jablonsky - great score and the final theme in the movie is the best!

find the original trailer here and listen to the music

I dont know if Da Vinci Code has the same music in the official trailer but the TV advert I saw played the same music as Nick's

Anyway no big deal to be honest - was only curious

Thanks for your info though

There are many tv spots and 2 or 3 trailers for a big film. I licensed a cue called "Ulysses" for "the Island" campaign.

My apologies Nick

I thought YOU composed the music for the trailer of The Island

After all it was during the time of Symphonic Choirs so I figured it was used for this movie

Again... I hope no harm was done

And thank you Edx... appreciate the info on the track and link

Best,

Ezra
