How about a library dedicated to producing a sort of bad school band sound? Before everyone laughs, I'm certain there's actually a market for this. Composers for television / tv ads etc...

So it would be samples of slightly out of tune instruments, not played very well, but good enough to sort of pass grade 5 maybe?!

eg. Drums that sound like they're in a garage and have the same skins for 10 years! Or scratchy violins not played in time with each other and clarinets that have the odd squeak every now and again.

I think I would buy this

even if I have no actual use for such a product, I REALLY would like to hear stuff which has been created with it ;-)!

Most instruments can be detuned within play itself, not counting that you can use Daws to change the tuning of a track in semi tones if you want. That will do mostly what you are asking for. As for being badly played.. well hmm dunno :p

Interesting Concept. Seems most school bands I've heard play quite nicely.

Yes it's amazing how a school band can play quite nicely, but a band (of adults) that have been playing for years together, still can't play as good or better ... Ps I don't play in one, I got some as clients for live recordings.
