View Full Version : syllable resetting each time a sound is added?

Hello,

Maybe it's just me but every time I try to add a single sound to a syllable it resets everything I have done with that syllable. It's getting very frustrating. I can spend a long time tweaking a word, getting the length of each sound and the volume crossfades just right. Then I go to make it plural by adding an "S" and I loose everything I just did :( It's very hard when working in VOTOX because I'll often decide to add a sound to the word to make it sound better, but I loose all the curves, lengths, everything  It's becoming very frustrating loosing time to this problem.

Sam, is this the way it's supposed to work? If not, are there any plans to add the ability to insert a sound without reseting the entire syllable?

Hi James,

Right now, that's the intended behavior. WordBuilder automatically makes adjustments to letters depending on what you type. Making sure that the syllable is correct before modifying can save you some time.

We do appreciate the feedback, and I will note your suggestion for future updates or releases.

Thanks. I can certainly see where it can be helpful. It's just at the momment it's being frustrating. How it works now is great for the default behavior but I'd kill for a way to insert a sound w/o resetting the whole syllable.

Thanks for taking the suggestion. I feel silly complaining about the little things considering how powerful and extensive SC is as a whole.

Argh! Sorry about the name thing... there's JamesIII and JPGIII on this forum, and for some reason I mixed the two up even though it should be blatantly obvious!

Thanks for the compliments about WordBuilder and Choirs!
