Now this is going to sound weird but I'm obsessed with Dario marianelli's V for vendetta score! SPECIFICALLY Eve reborn! and valary. I'm currently, writing a story and these two are greatly helping me visualize what I want. it's just perfect darn it!..lol wish I could've came up with those two.
This whole thing brought the question of what others are obsessed with right now? like a score that you keep listening to and just sparks ideas of all kinds and you absolutely wish you could've come with.

I really love that Evey Reborn cue. At the moment i'm kinda obsessed with Poledouris' "Farewell To The King".
I rarely buy or listen much to film score soundtracks, but I did buy V and thought it was a great soundtrack. I think DM is one of the new breed of film composers to keep an eye on. This guy is going to be a huge success.

For whatever reason I've been listening to John Powell's X-Men 3 soundtrack a lot recently. The weird thing about it is that I don't really even remember much of about the music from when I saw the movie, but there was one specific cue that I remember I like, but I couldn't quite remember it, so I got the soundtrack and fell in love with it.

It's all about "The Resurrection"... the choirs and strings hit their peak there in my opinion...

Obsessions of mine:
Tin Hat Trio - The Rodeo Eroded
I randomly stumbled on this group on iTunes and bought their album, The Rodeo Eroded, which is an amazing album. It's a perfect blend of classical, jazz, folk, avant-garde that all has a very cinematic quality to it.
Midlake - The Trials of Van Occupanther
I randomly heard this album on my friend's ipod and immediately ordered a copy. It has a folk/rock sound with a modern sensibility to it. The lyrics are very pastoral with an air of mystery about them and the music is consistently enganging and surprising.
Frou Frou - Details
This album is pure sonic bliss.
Jump Little Children - Vertigo
One of my all-time favorite albums. If you want to read more you can check out this review I wrote: http://www.in-zine.com/music-article.asp?key=6

A song I've been playing these past few days is from Anne Dudley called Two brothers, not sure if it's from a movie. I came to find her through Tristan and Isolde soundtrack. This is the first female composer I know of and so far me likes :)

i've listened to dario's v for vendetta dozens of times it's one of my favs!
i am obsessed with david arnold's work right now. his stargate (1994) soundtrack i have been listening to constantly this week along with the stargate sg-1 soundtrack (i love the choir in the chosen life or death track).
another really good soundtrack i have probably listened to over 50 times is danny elfman's charlie and the chocolate factory (really only the score cue's are good).
there's soooo much more though... yeah x3 is awesome, independence day, brother's grimm (also dario quite beautiful particually that "and they lived happily ever after" track), starwars 3, van helsing, and lots more...

That sounds familiar... is that the old Spielberg tv series from say ten or more years ago? The Mission having something to do with a WWII bomber...?

I wouldn't call it obsessing, but I've been having a lot of fun listening to the Giant Robo soundtracks. That was $3.99 (each) well spent, I think. It features the Warsaw Philharmonic with chorus.
